Special activities unique to this class: Our students participate in the Geography Bee and Science Fair. Field trips include an annual 3-day science camping trip on Casper Mountain; other curriculum-related field trips include the Wyoming Game & Fish Expo, local museums, trip to Ft. Laramie, etc. Conduct a Social Studies simulation on colonization, Discovery. Literature circles to improve reading. Guest speakers support curriculum when possible. Current year graduate students from Teton Science School team teach for three days in the spring.
Goals To Achieve By The End Of The Year: To help each child grow spiritually, cognitively, and emotionally and to experience the love of God in their lives.
MUSIC
Teacher: Terry Cometto
Summary: Students in fifth grade have the opportunity to learn a band instrument if they so choose. All participate in general music. This is a way to encourage students to think deeper. Since fifth grade is the last year students take general music, students compose the fifth grade symphony, and use the Bible to help them understand what are acceptable lyrics for listening.
