MUSIC

Summary: First grade music class focuses on performing, creating, and responding to music. Students play instruments, learn dances from different cultures, and create music to enable them to acquire musical skills and knowledge in addition to singing that may not be developed in other ways. Students will study classical music and composers. Students will use the "music hand signs" when learning songs. This enables them to understand that they have to use their "singing voice" and not their speaking voice.
