PRESCHOOL
3-YEAR OLD CURRICULUM
Lead Teacher: Diana Laughon
Maximum class size: 18
Student to teacher ratio: 9 to 1
Requirements to enroll: Must be toilet trained - NO PULL UPS. Student must be age three by September 15 (Wyoming State Statute § 21-4-302(c)(ii)).
Curriculum used:We use a variety of hands-on age appropriate activities from a variety of resources, including Mailbox resource ideas.
State standards covered in curriculum: Wyoming Early Childhood Readiness Standards are taught by an accredited teacher with an assistant.
Religion: Attend Mass once a week. Morning programs attend with all grades in our school (preschool through 9th grade). Homilies are geared for school-aged children.
Religion curriculum: Christ Our Life Series, Bishop approved.
Skills taught: Socialization skills, large and fine motor skills, introduction to age appropriate math, language, music, art, spanish, and movement.
Library time: Introduction on how to care for books, checking out and returning library materials, and weekly story time.
Special activities unique to this class: We attend Mass weekly. Students participate in age appropriate activities and there is some integration of older to younger students. In addition, students do age appropriate service projects such as singing for residents at St. Anthony Manor.
Goals to achieve by end of school year: Develop a positive self-esteem, play well with others, become more independent, develop natural curiosity and inquiry skills, and have a great year.
4-YEAR OLD CURRICULUM

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Skills taught: Large motor skills such as throwing, catching, running, galloping, skipping, and hopping.
Special activities unique to this class: All preschoolers are invited to participate in the school track day.
Goals to achieve by end of school year: Develop an understanding about the importance of being physically fit, learn basic skills, develop motor skills, and, love P.E.!
SPANISH
Lead Teacher: Osmeli Russian
Curriculum used: Introduction to Spanish language and culture through songs, rhymes, mimicry and drawings.
State standards covered in curriculum: No state standards at this age.
Skills taught: Students interpret and repeat Spanish greetings, colors and members of the family in short oral phrases.
Special activities unique to this class: Through the use of pictures, CD recordings and oral mimicry, students learn to imitate Spanish sounds and speak simple phrases. Cultural units follow the calendar and celebrations as listed in curriculum outline. These include art projects, songs and puzzles.
Goals to achieve by end of school year: Students will recall and recite greetings, colors, and names of family members in Spanish.
MUSIC
Lead Teacher: Terry Cometto
Summary: Preschool students receive music class once a week for 30 minutes. During this time, students learn songs that are traditional children's songs, folk songs, as well as, religious songs. The students also listen to classical music and music from a variety of cultures, styles, and time periods. Students have the opportunity to play rhythm instruments. With understanding that students' play is their work, we use games and action songs for them to perform. We keep the motto of "All children have musical potential."
Requirements to enroll: Willingness to sing and follow directions.
Curriculum used: Wee Sing Bible Songs, More Bible Songs, fun songs, and nursery rhymes
State standards covered in curriculum: Participate in the arts; historical and cultural content context
Skills taught: Different voices: loud, soft, speaking and singing voice; use of basic rhythm instruments and Boomwhackers and rhythm circles.
Special activities unique to this class: Students in Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten explore rhythm through the use of rhythm sticks and other basic instruments along with an introduction to African instruments.
Goals to achieve by end of school year: Students will use their natural rhythmic abilities to explore and express themselves through music.
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
Experience with computers is available for students of every age at St. Anthony Tri-Parish Catholic School. In Preschool, computers are used as the teacher deems appropriate for age and skill development.
