Religion Curriculum: Sacramental preparation (Reconciliation in the fall, Eucharist in the winter and spring).
Skills taught: Incorporating reading strategies such as phonetic skills, using clues to predict, infer, inquire, summarize, and writing cohesive stories with a beginning, middle, and end. Math skills: mastery of addition and subtraction facts, counting money, place value, problem solving, word problem strategies, measurement, and geometry (2D & 3D shapes). Social Studies: importance of rules and community. Science: living and nonliving things, moon phases, and states of matter. Personal responsibility: organizing, study skills, and planning skills (i.e. bringing back homework).
Goals To Achieve By The End Of The Year: To develop independent reading and math skills and nurture a love for learning.
